Albia Chamber Main Street is now accepting nominations for our 2025 community awards. Help us honor the people and businesses who strengthen Albia through leadership, service, investment, and vision.
Award Categories:
Excellence in Leadership Award
Honors an individual who mentors future leaders, embraces new opportunities, demonstrates strong character in adversity, and shows deep passion for Albia’s future—while respecting its past. Presented in memory of Dave Johnson.
Economic Vitality Investor Award
Recognizes efforts to improve building availability, quality, and upper‑level housing; support business growth; create jobs; and collaborate to identify new opportunities for Albia’s economic future.
Excellence in Design & Placemaking Award
Celebrates community‑driven design efforts that enhance downtown through marketing, window displays, signage, cross‑promotion, and the creation of welcoming “third places.”
Activation Achievement Award
Honors leadership that creates or enhances events, encourages volunteerism, promotes tourism, and brings people back to Albia through innovative community engagement.
Volunteer of the Year Award
Recognizes a volunteer who demonstrates dependability, humility, initiative, and positive impact—while inspiring others to get involved.
Business of the Year Award
Honors a business that identifies community needs, partners with Albia Chamber Main Street, supports events, and demonstrates long‑term commitment to Albia’s success.
Hall of Fame Award
Recognizes individuals age 50+ who have contributed to Albia for at least 20 years and continue to be active enough to accept the honor. Service may span multiple areas of community involvement.
